Cenote Zací



It is a semi open type cenote with free fall, it is entered through a tunnel or cave where one descends on a stone staircase with guardrail surrounding the cenote. The water hue goes from blue to slightly greenish, depending on time of the year and the water mirror is 35 meters long by 25 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 40 meters.

The dome is decorated with colorful stalactites, being a cenote very visited because of its beauty and history. At the top of it, adjacent to the street, a restaurant specialized in yucatecan cuisine is located, from whose tables you can observe the great dome and the water mirror. It is a place with good conditions for swimming. It is recommended to use life jackets, avoid using sunblocks and insect repellents as well as littering inside and outside the water body.

This cenote is located 159 km east of Merida city. Take the Valladolid – Cancún highway. Near the center of Valladolid city, on 36th street between 39 and 37 in the district of Santa Ana.
