Open type cenote with free fall. It’s popular even for just taking pictures, it has a special scenic view because of the tree roots hanging over the cave entrance.
It has a stone staircase of approximately 20 meters. The water color is blue and is 5 meters long by 25 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 20 meters. It is suitable for swimming and cave diving thanks to its large underwater caverns.
The cooperative of Tumben Zazil Kin Zonot takes care and manages the tourist center, charging a small entry fee in return. It offers hosting services in cabins and camping areas, restaurant, snorkel equipment rental and bicycles.
It is recommended to use life jackets, avoid using sunblocks and to be very careful when descending the stairs.
This cenote is located 49 km from Merida city. Take the Merida-Muna highway kilometer 39 right margin towards the Cacao ex hacienda, advance up to San Antonio Mulix ex hacienda, from there take the 2.3 km long dirt road. (You can enter with your vehicle or rent a bicycle).
