Cenote Yaal Utsil
This open type cenote with freefall has a 12 meter long staircase to access the water mirror. The water color is blue and is 25 meters long by 39 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 49 meters.
Vessels and some feline bones (possibly from a jaguar) had been found inside. It has been the local bathing place for the villagers and their water supply, since long ago. It is recommended to find the local guide and the use of lifejackets.
This cenote is located 49km south of Merida city, taking the highway to Muna, reaching the town of Abalá, heading 7km east from there towards the Mucuyché de Peón hacienda, and one block before reaching the town center turning to the left and crossing 100 meters of unpaved street but in good condition.
