Cenote Tza Ujun Kat



It is a closed type cenote inside a grotto, with a 12 meter free fall. It has two entrances, one is the opening at the top that allows light to enter, and another at the north side from where you descend through a staircase made of masonry that facilitates entry into the cenote on a large platform from where you access the semicircular shaped water.

The water is clear and clean, its mirror measuring 30.5 meters long by 21.40 meters long, with a maximum depth of 18 meters. It has deep and shallow zones, making it ideal for family enjoyment. It has a rocky platform surrounded by the flowing cenote water.

It is managed by the Municipal Government who provides maintenance to the installations, charging a small entry fee in return. It is recommended to use lifejackets, avoid using sunblocks and to be very careful when descending.
